Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre and the Art Teachers’ Union invited artists to participate in the 5th International Latgale Graphic Symposium organized in the framework of Rothko Centre’s Residence Program.
The International jury chose 11 participants: Mishe (Republic of Macedonia), Laura Manfredi (Italy), Vaida Varnagiene (Lithuania/Ireland), Agnieszka Zawadzka (Poland), Robert Rabiej (Poland), Miroslav Mandic (Serbia), Jürgen Höritzsch (Germany), Taida Jesarevic Hefford (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Inga Heamagi (Estonia), Irene Podgornik Badia (Italy) and Anastasia (Latvia).
The Graphic Symposium involved meeting, discussion and creative work within the cultural space of Latgale, which united similar and different thinking and working graphic artists from Latvia and abroad.The Aim of the symposium was to create unique contemporary graphic artworks, developing an international communication platform in the field of the graphic art.
In just two weeks eleven professional artists were creating and exchanging ideas under one roof. And finally, the 5th International Latgale Graphic Symposium ended with a superb exhibition at the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Centre, Latvia.
